About Swim and Scuba: common questions
What does Swim and Scuba on Long Island run now?
Swim and Scuba on Long Island now runs lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certification year round at 37 Mineola Ave in Roslyn, swim lessons in multi-week sessions grouped by ability rather than age, and scuba training, equipment and trips with Scuba Network of Long Island in Carle Place.
Is the Rockville Centre shop still open?
No. The Rockville Centre shop closed on November 1, 2020, after three decades of training swimmers and divers on Long Island. What the shop did has not stopped. It has been split between the people best placed to carry each part of it.
How are students placed in classes?
Students are placed by what they can do on the day rather than by age or by what they signed up for, which sometimes means moving someone down a level in the first session. Classes are also kept small, because water skills are learned by repeating them with someone watching.
