Emergency First Responder  training courses offer comprehensive First Aid and CPR related training. The skills you learn in Emergency First Responder classes may help save someone, anyone, not just a diver, they are nationally accredited and recognized. These courses are open to anyone who would like to learn more about safety and emergency preparedness. Courses in first aid and CPR are required to progress into professional ratings or to earn a rescue diver certification.

CPR- Primary Care                                                                                                                

CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is required anytime the victim of and accident has stopped breathing and has no pulse. Fast action can save their life. This class will prepare you to perform CPR in the event that it would be needed. Basic Life Support techniques are discussed and practiced utilizing mannequins and scenarios. Automated External Defibrillator, AED's are the newest addition to a first responder's toolkit. They are relatively simple to use and are now found almost everywhere. They allow for first responders and emergency medical personnel to provide shocks to help restore normal cardiac rhythms. You will learn what they are and how they function during your EFR class.

First Aid- Secondary Care

This course in first aid will teach the steps needed to respond to a non-life threatening illness or injury situation. Basic techniques to control bleeding and apply bandages are covered. Proper care for broken limbs, burns, exposure injuries such as frostbite, hypothermia and heat stroke are all discussed as well. A great deal of attention is given to personal barriers and proper management of accident scene.  

 

In addition- Variant courses include both Babysitter and Nanny programs and course for Child and Infant CPR and First Aid, and courses are recognized by the Boy and Girl Scouts of America in addition to meet ILCOR and American Heart Association Standards.
